Traditional retained search firms have many shortcomings, namely costly up-front investment with no guarantee of timely success.  Spectrum has customized our retained search process specifically around our client needs. We achieved this by creating performance based search which requires a percentage of the fee upon initiation of the search with the remainder due only upon successful completion. Our perspective is simple.  We give individual attention and top priority to each search until the search is successfully completed.

The bottom line is no two companies are identical and neither are their search criteria. Spectrum recognizes this and has created viable alternatives to traditional retained search that give our clients flexibility and guarantee of performance. Compensation needs to be upwards of $100k, no matter what the urgency of the hire. We allow clients to dictate priority and base our retainers not on arbitrary compensation numbers but on urgency.
Have "hands-off" companies where they are restricted from tapping into candidates or resources. No recruiting restrictions unless specified contractually.
